Full description
The WS-C24 water softener is a compact automatic system designed to reduce water hardness through ion-exchange resins. Thanks to its volume-time programming and Up Flow regeneration, it is an efficient solution for residential use, with optimized water and salt consumption during the regeneration cycle. Its 24-liter resin capacity (6.34 gal) makes it suitable for households of approximately 4 to 6 people.
Its compact design allows installation in different areas of the home, even where space is limited. The cabinet is made of polyethylene, while the pressure vessel is made of fiberglass-reinforced polyester, preloaded with high-capacity food-grade resin. The system is complete with by-pass, residual hardness mixer, brine valve with safety float, and a digital controller with permanent parameter memory. The operating cycle includes 5 phases: service, backwash, brine draw, brine tank refill, and final resin rinse. Water supply is maintained during regeneration.
The display allows management of daily programming and delayed regeneration, with a keypad equipped with a safety lock. The system is also set up for forced regeneration, ensuring precise operating control and excellent adaptability to household water consumption.

Outlet hardness adjustment
In residential installations, it is recommended not to deliver completely softened water. The system features an integrated residual hardness regulator, which allows precise adjustment of the treated water hardness through the MIX valve. In the standard configuration, the softeners are supplied with this adjustment fully closed and therefore deliver water at 0°F.
For water intended for human consumption, a residual hardness setting is recommended as follows:
between 5 and 10°F for copper piping
between 8 and 10°F for iron piping
By setting a residual outlet hardness, the system can produce a greater quantity of treated water with lower salt consumption, because the inlet hardness is offset by the desired outlet value.
With an inlet hardness of 40°F and an outlet residual hardness of 5°F, the calculation is based on 35°F, resulting in a treatment capacity of 4,857 liters (1,283 gal) of softened water. In this case, it is recommended to program 4.9 m³ (173 cu ft) as the treatment capacity.
Considering an average water consumption of 150 liters per person per day (39.6 gal/day), a family of 4 consumes approximately 3,000 liters in 5 days (793 gal). For this reason, the WS-C24 water softener is a suitable solution for residential use with regeneration scheduled every 4 to 5 days.
Benefits and advantages
Water softening helps reduce the formation of limescale deposits inside pipes, faucets, heat exchangers, household appliances, and boilers. Treated water improves everyday comfort, leaving skin softer after showering, helping sanitary ware, faucets, showers, and dishes stay shinier, and improving fabric softness during washing.
Main advantages include:
reduced water hardness
less limescale buildup
longer life for appliances and boilers
energy savings
reduced use of soaps, fabric softeners, and chemical products
lower maintenance costs
fully automatic operation
The only routine operation required is the periodic refilling of salt in the brine tank.
White-label customization
The system can be fully customized starting from 15 pieces, both on the device itself and on the outer packaging, with the option of white-label production or customer branding. This solution is ideal for distributors, resellers, and companies wishing to market a compact water softener under their own commercial identity. Customization documentation shows dedicated box and manual options for the WS-C24 model.
Increase of sodium in drinking water
Most of the sodium consumed by the body normally comes from food, especially industrially processed products. The contribution from water is generally lower. However, all water softeners operating through ion exchange produce sodium ions in the treated water.
The recommended sodium limit for water intended for human consumption is 200 ppm/liter. Depending on the hardness of the incoming water and the initial sodium concentration, the treated water may exceed the recommended level. In such cases, or whenever a low-sodium diet is required, the installation of a domestic reverse osmosis system dedicated to drinking water is recommended.
Warnings
To protect the water softener and the entire system from small stones, sand, rust, and suspended sediment, it is recommended to install upstream a housing with a wound polypropylene filter cartridge rated at 50 microns or higher.
